Downtown Santa Barbara's First Luxury Boutique Hotel
LOCATION
The hotel is steps from the historic 1782 Presidio District, fine dining, shops,
museums, art galleries and theatres of downtown Santa Barbara on a one-acre
site. Only 90 miles up the coast from Los Angeles and 335 miles south of
San Francisco, the hotel is easily accessible via car on coastal U.S. Highway
101, by train, or by commercial jet and private aircraft at Santa Barbara
Municipal Airport (SBA).
DESCRIPTION
The newly constructed two-story hotel opened on September 8, 2001. The hotel's
Spanish-Colonial architecture of white adobe walls, red tile roofs, ornate
ironwork, courtyard fountains, vaulted ceilings and arches conceals modern
amenities. Barbara Chen Lowenthal Designs of Santa Barbara created the distinctive
interiors.
ACCOMMODATIONS
All 23 guest rooms and suites offer a gas fireplace, high speed Internet access,
cordless telephone with voicemail, color TV/VCR with cable, thermostatically
controlled heat and air-conditioning, ceiling fans, deep water soaking tub,
refrigerator (stocked with refreshments and regional specialties), French
press coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, luxurious beds (king,
queen or two queens) and 300-thread count Italian linens, towels and bathrobes.
All rooms feature either a private balcony or garden patio.
GUEST SERVICES & FEATURES
An open-air fitness room overlooks the heated swimming pool and sundeck. In-room
spa services including massages, facials and beauty treatments are readily
available. The 24-hour staff will gladly arrange dining, shopping, concert
and theatre tickets, wine tasting tours, whale-watching or sunset cruises
and transportation. Luggage and bell-service as well as evening turn-down
service are offered. Same-day laundry and dry-cleaning/valet is available.
Complimentary underground parking is provided. Each evening, no-host wine
bar is offered from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
MEETING & EVENT FACILITIES
The Boardroom (282 square feet) will accommodate meetings for up to 16 guests
seated around the permanent mahogany table. The Marisol Room (1,080 square
feet) with a gas fireplace is an intimate location for parties and wedding
receptions accommodating 30 people seated at banquet rounds; 45 for a cocktail
reception; 40 classroom-style meetings and 50 theater-style. Kitchen facilities,
catering, audio-visual and entertainment arrangements are available.
OWNERSHIP/MANAGEMENT
The hotel is owned by Inn of the Spanish Gardens, LLC; and operated
by Broughton Hospitality Group of Newport Beach, California. Founder
Larry Broughton is a 20-year hotel industry executive and former
vice-president/partner of Joie de Vivre Hospitality in San Francisco.
General Manager Rebecca Johnson directs a staff of 20 in providing
first-class personal service.
RATES
Guest room rates range from $235-$465 per night (ask about corporate rates
and packages) and include deluxe Continental breakfast buffet with cappuccino
and espresso specialty coffees from 7:30-10:00 a.m.
